What we do

The APO collaborates seamlessly with established organizations such as the Hands with Heart Foundation, to amplify the impact of their volunteer efforts in under-served regions.

A critical aspect of this collaboration involves addressing the significant financial barriers that often deter healthcare professionals from participating in volunteer missions.
By mitigating these financial constraints, we aim to substantially increase the number of volunteers able to attend these missions

The removal of financial barriers not only expands the pool of available allied health professionals but also enhances the frequency and scale of these missions. This, in turn, leads to a more profound and sustained impact on the lives of the children in these communities.
How we work

-
A registered allied health provider can apply to the APO for a yearly grant to offset the costs incurred from a planned volunteer mission.

-
The mission must be with a recognized charitable organisation operating in the Asia Pacific region and providing healthcare to local people in that region.

-
On receiving the grant application, the APO board reviews the request and contacts the applicant with the result.

-
If successful the applicant is provided the funds requested to enable their trip to proceed and upon their return from the mission, the applicant submits a short report on the trip to the APO.
