Welcome to Asia Pacific Outreach, we extend a heartfelt greeting to potential volunteers, whether you're contemplating offering your expertise abroad for the first time or have done so previously. At Asia Pacific Outreach, we recognize the invaluable contribution of healthcare professionals like you, who dedicate their time and skills to uplift disabled and disadvantaged individuals in third-world nations. Your commitment to humanitarian service is admirable, and we are grateful for your willingness to embark on this journey of compassion and empowerment. The application process

Step one

Familiarise yourself with the APO's objectives and ensure you fulfil the initial criteria to make an application for funding

Step two

Download our application form, complete and return.

Step three

Your application will be reviewed by the APO board within 3-4 weeks of submission. You may be contacted during this time for additional information or video/phone interview.

Step four

The result of your application will be communicated to you. If successful a funding agreement will be provided and when completed the grant will be supplied.

Step five

When you return from your trip you provide a short report to the APO about the mission and your experiences from it

Criteria for Volunteers

In order to be eligible to apply for an APO grant, an applicant must meet the following criteria

1. You are a registered allied health provider*

2. The organisation you will be volunteering with must be a registered charity or not for profit, providing healthcare support.

3. The region you will be travelling to for the volunteer work is in the Asia Pacific Region.

4. You are not receiving any monetary compensation for your volunteer work with the charity/not for profit organisation.

Please note that meeting these criteria does not guarantee a grant, your application will go through a formal review process and you may be contacted to discuss further details.

*Allied health providers include such occupations as - Osteopaths, Physiotherapists, Psychologists, Paramedics, Dental hygienists, Audiologists, Speech therapists, Orthoptists, Podiatrists, Optometrists etc
